For UCSF employees and learners
In January 2025, a UCSF Community Well-being Grant enabled Family Services to pilot a virtual support group for caregivers of older loved ones. The project, which consisted of four separate support groups, proved to be a powerful resource for participants – an overwhelming majority reported their group positively impacted their social and emotional wellness.
Family Services is very happy to announce the virtual support group is returning this fall. We invite all UCSF employees and learners who are actively caring for older loved ones to join us in this shared journey. Together, we can support one another in creating a thriving, inclusive community.
There will be three separate support groups; each will meet for one hour every week from mid-October to mid-December, with sessions resuming in January and running through mid-April. We will have an attendance requirement to ensure optimal use of limited resources. Participants are encouraged to commit to regular attendance so groups can build trust, consistency, and strong connections.
