We all want our kids to become great readers, but what's the right age to start? Will teaching them at home erode their love of reading, and how should one teach reading at home? In this webinar, educator and literacy expert Nathan Patton will help parents/guardians navigate these difficult questions and set their children on a path toward the opportunity, connection, and joy that come from being great readers. Hosted by Campus Life Services - Family Services.

Nathan Patton began his career in the classrooms of Harlem, NY, and Newark, NJ, with Teach for America and KIPP, eventually leading him to help found People’s Prep Charter School, where he served as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for nearly a decade. A long-time instructional coach and curriculum writer, Nathan is deeply committed to sharing what research shows are the best methods for teaching reading to children.  Nathan "put his money where his mouth is" by teaching his own children to read before age four through short, daily, 15-minute learning sessions. Today, Nathan is passionate about showing other parents and educators how to replicate this success through one-on-one, scientifically-backed instruction.
